Which types of call can I make with my Embratel Telephone Card?
With the Embratel Telephone Card you can place DDD and IDD calls from any type of wireline phone, from Brazil and overseas.



Can I use my Embratel Telephone Card to make calls from cell phones and pay stations?
Yes. With your Embratel Telephone Card you can make calls from any type of phone, including cell phones and pay stations.



Can I use my Embratel Telephone Card when I am abroad?
Yes, you can use it in any country that has an agreement with Embratel. Check out the list of countries.


Do I have to dial the 0800 code to make my calls? Can't I dial straight the card number?
Yes. When you make calls with the Embratel Telephone Card it is necessary to dial the service access number -
0800 721 21 20.



Do I have to dial the Embratel 21 code to make my DDD/IDD calls?
No. Since it is an Embratel Telephone Card service, it is not necessary to dial the 21 code to make your calls.



Can I lend my card to other people (relatives, friends, neighbors)?
Yes. You can lend your card to other people, however you cannot make simultaneous calls, i.e. you and other people cannot use the card at the same time.



How can I access the Embratel Telephone Card service?
Firstly you have to scratch for the card number. Secondly you dial the service access number-
0800 721 21 20- and then the card number. In the first use the system will ask you to select the idiom (1- Portuguese, or 2 - English) and will inform the number of minutes. Next, you will be requested to dial the destination number, as follows: 0 + area code + phone number.



How are calls billed when I am transferred to the operator? 
The Embratel Telephone Card has no differentiated rate for operator-assisted completed calls - it is the same rate of the automatic call.



Am I already paying for the call when I am transferred to the operator?
No. The time available in the card begins to count upon completion of the call, i.e. when the destination number answers the call.



When I ring the Customer Care number 103 21, do I have to enter my card number as well?
No. This is a customer care exclusive number.



If my credits are about to end/expire while I'm talking, will my call be cut off?
Your call will be cut off when your credits are effectively over. If you have the equivalent to one minute of call, the system will send you a message (end of credit warning) and, after one minute is elapsed, the call will be disconnected with a farewell message.



I receive a message saying that it was not possible to complete your call while I am dialing the correct phone number. What is going on?
It can be a case of busy line, change of phone number or traffic congestion. Please check if you are dialing the number correctly. If the problem persists, ask the assistance of the the Customer Care Service that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through phone no. 103 21.



Can I use all my credits in one single call (or only once)?
It is up to you to establish the length of your call depending on the credits you have. You can use the credits to make one single call or several calls, as long as you have any credit left in your card.



Do I have to wait for the end of the message to select my option?
No. You can enter the numbers in a row without having to listen to the messages.

If this problem occurs, ring the Customer Care Center no. 103 21. The operator will check through the system if it is possible to identify the card number.

The first use validity, printed on the back of the card, starts when your first call is effectively completed.


Are taxes included in the amount to be charged to my card for a completed call?
Yes. The decrementation of one minute of call using Embratel Telephone Card includes taxes (ICMS) and social contributions Pis-Pasep and Cofins) for, Local, DDD and IDD calls.



What happens when a customer tries to make a call from a DDD/IDD blocked phone?
Since you access the Embratel Telephone Card through a 0800 number, it is possible to make the call on a regular basis, even from a blocked phone, because the call will be billed to the card.
