The São Paulo Jockey Club will be provided with Embratel?s RTV Digital Plus solution for the transmission of digital video signals via satellite, designed to improve the quality and security of transmission of the Jockey TV programming, of the races, and of events designed horse race fans.
The Jockey TV offers live transmissions of races taking place at the following Jockey Clubs: Cidade Jardim in São Paulo, Gavea (Rio de Janeiro), Tarumã (Rio de Janeiro) and Cristal (Rio Grande do Sul), including the comments of experts and the tips for the Forecasts Competition. The channel is ordered on demand for the horse race fans.
"The Jockey Club offers premier services to its members, and therefore could not be kept out of the Digital TV age. From now on, the TV viewers will be offered a much improved transmission image signal, and the quality of Embratel services as well", says Mário Gimenes, the Jockey?s General Director.
The Jockey Club has already been a customer of Embratel?s 0800, data network, local and DDD calling services, dropping its costs by around 20 percent in comparison with its former carrier. In addition to the quality and reliability of the signal transmitted by Embratel?s satellite, the new RTV Digital Plus service offers speed, security and high capacity transmission.
The São Paulo Jockey Club is a public association run by a board of directors elected by its members. In addition to the Cidade Jardim racecourse, where the races take place, the members can go to the club?s downtown premises (rua Boa Vista), the Jockey?s Caiçara (formerly a horse training center), and the Campinas Training Center.
