Promising business agent
Since June this year, the Salvador-based Embratel Business Agent signed ten contracts in the first month of partnership to install and maintain Business IP Sat, which provides high speed internet connection, especially in places where there are no dedicated or telephone line services or where there is a minimum of quality for an IP connection. The Idea of Freire Informática, which has around seven hundred customers, such as town halls, local governments, autarchies and local funds in a number of Brazilian states, is to end the year with a hundred signed contracts.

In the beginning, says CEO Wellington Freire, counties in Bahia and Sergipe will be attended, but gradually the partnership will extend to every state where the company is already operating - Rio de Janeiro, Alagoas, Pernambuco and Tocantins - and to São Paulo and Minas Gerais. "We believe that a good part of these customers must plug in to internet through Business IP Sat, mainly those who find access difficult because of the distance in relation to the capital or large cities", he explains.

Freire sees a strong social focus in these contracts: "This partnership means constantly striving to upgrade Brazilian local governments, with a view to greater comfort, efficiency and practicality, when we focus on digital inclusion. There are many benefits in the partnership, primarily now in the dynamic support service offered to our customers. Since that is our way of thinking, we chose Embratel because of its reputation, which is synonymous with quality, and also due to the versatility of Business IP Sat, since we have customers in places far inland, and only one company - Embratel - has the mobility and efficiency for the service. We also use VipPhone, VipLine and Internet."

Sales

Business IP Sat, which offers access with 150 kbps or 300 kbps, is being installed by e Freire Informática through its Sales structure with commercial representatives, disseminating and signing contracts in the various counties, so that Embratel can now move on to the next stage, which is the installation and maintenance of the service.

"We gave priority to Business IP Sat because of the precarious state of telecommunications in the interior of the states. The switches are archaic and the access velocity is extremely slow, hence the most feasible alternative is the Embratel satellite access, which is also beneficial for the customers. One of them is a reduction in the phone bill. There is also the question of digital inclusion, since internet access will be provided in some counties in the public school system and computers for the community in the service branches. The partnership also provides a major social benefit", Freire points out.

Mutual interest

Wellington Freire explains why his company became an Embratel Business Agent: "When we speak about partners, we immediately think of the union of people or companies for a purpose of mutual interest, and this is what Freire and Embratel are looking at together: a partnership where they complement each other. Freire is in charge of the commercial side, which makes sure that the solution for broadband internet access reaches the customer; and Embratel installs and maintains the service.
