How it works

DNS
DNS is a distributed hierarchical system for name resolution in the Internet which converts names into IP addresses. Each organization that has a registered domain name must have a primary and a secondary DNS server.
Newsgroups Feeding
Embratel provides newsgroups feeding for its customers through the Business Link service, and the customer is required to own his own newsgroup server host.
The newsgroups offered in our service are:
alt.*, bionet.*, bit.*, biz.*, br.*, brasil.*, comp.*, control.*, gnu.*, humanities.*, ieee.*, junk.*, microsoft.*, misc.*, news.*, rec.*, sci.*, soc.*, talk.*.
Web Cache
Using www cache servers results in significant reduction of network inbound traffic. Websites, or even file downloads, requested by your users have a large chance of having already been requested by other users and, if they are available in a cache server, the necessary time (and band allocation) to receive them can be significantly reduced.
Embratel owns www cache servers installed in its Routing Centers in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, the core of Embratel's Internet backbone. These servers, configured in workstations with 1GB of RAM, 512MB of swap space, and 6GB of disk, have a sibling relationship, speeding up answers to queries made to the www cache servers belonging to our Business Link - Direct customers.
